Rosalind Franklin and DNA

Image
Rosalind Franklin..maybe you know the name but.. who is? She was born in July 25,1920... she was an English chemist and X- ray crystallographer who made contributions to the understanding of the molecular structures of DNA and RNA. In 1938, she graduated of "Physics, mat, and chemistry" in "University of Cambridge" in Newnham College …and took a job with the British Coal Utilization Research Association. Then, she worked in   Laboratoire Central des Services Chimiques de l'Etat, here she learned X-rays diffraction techniques that would take her to know “the secret of live” (the structure of DNA) . In 1951, she decided to move back to London to advance her scientific career, she was making progress in studying DNA. In another hand, Watson and Crick were working on a model-based approach to trying to discover the structure of the DNA molecule. Franklin did not know Watson and Crick so much and never truly collaborated with them. She went to the Birkbeck la

Music in our lives...!

I can´t define what´s the music in my life. The only thing that I know is that the music is very important in my life, there isn´t a day that I don´t listen it. I think that it´s the best mode for scape from reality, for better or worse. I guess that I do everything with music. For example, I can study with music for subjects that don´t need a lot of concentration (for me) like math and chemistry but I can´t do this with subjects like biology and physic, but if we talk about more specifics things.. I prefer the kind of music that makes you feel happy, with a beautiful letters, songs that make you remember beautiful moments.  I listen different musical types…pop, romantic, hip hop. Nevertheless, I don´t have a favourite one,  but if you ask me for a singer.. I definitely choose Ed Sheeran! I love his songs, I think that his music make you feel better always :D. In another hand I don’t have a favourite band or group :(. When I was younger I remember that I loved “Hanna Montana

A photograph you like

The truth is that I don´t have a favourite photograph, because I think that in each photo everyone express different things and feelings that are not comparable between them, but if I have to mention one photograph that I prefer... The photograph was taken by I don´t know..:( maybe a Chilean guy in 1952. I think that one of the best photographs that I ever seen is the first woman exercising her law to vote for a president (in Chile), but...why? Well, this law was one of the most important "achievement" in woman´s life, is the instance (maybe the most important) that everybody have to decided who are going to guide the government in next years, so it´s important that in this fact, women have participation like mans, after all.. Everyone live in the same planet so everyone have the same rights! :D  I think that this fact was the beginning of many achievements for them!!
